The SHUMSHIHA DiGITAL LIBRARY

Birhan Tesfaw and Rudy Seikaly partnered with their foundation, the MCN Build Foundation to build the Shumshiha Digital Library/High School in a town near to Lalibela. Birhan Tesfaw managed the project as a volunteer effort because he knows that education can open doors in impoverished communities. The town of Shumshiha did not have access to secondary education and students had to walk up to 16 miles to get to school before the school was built. Birhan and Rudy also manage an orphanage for 14 children and have plans to continue to work to improve the community.
